Mama's Drops Grey Green 2AATSocks...Continued...

I should have been done with this particular project long ago.  These socks have taken residence on my needles for far more time than anticipated but between company, learning how to 'blog' and an extremely painful flare during which you would never choose to knit socks, especially with a Fair Isle color block, they are still struggling to find their way through on my needles.
Fair Isle Technique on Leg

If they look out of proportion on my needles, it is due to the sizing I have to adjust to accommodate the edema in my feet and legs.  So, please, try to look past your natural instinct as a knitter to caution me that I do not have my socks in proper proportion to fit because, believe it or not, they will.  That is the beauty of knitting, you can make them fit anything you need them to!  Maybe one day soon I will be able to knit normal socks for myself but until then we just keep praying and knitting really big socks!

Okay, looking past all that 'stuff' (a biblical word, you know, first used by Jacob, that tickles me for some reason ;-)  I think the pattern turned out nicely and is going to be pretty when worn.  To make it a little more whimsical, I am going to make the toes and heel flaps the chocolate brown color, just for fun.  Sometimes a little color is a good distraction.
Two-At-A-Time Method using a 60" KnitPicks Harmony Circular Needle

We are fast approaching tackling another heel with the Two-At-A-Time method.  Actually, last time I thought the heel went quicker using the Two-At-A-Time method so maybe it will be that easy once again.  I still love the fact that at the end, I will have two identical socks done at the same time.  It makes me giggle a little.  I wonder if mittens would work too????  Hmmmmm.....

Finally...They Are Done...

Socks to accommodate my feet when swollen.

These may seem to be a bit misshaped but that is because they are custom to fit my feet when they are very swollen.  It took me forever to finish them because I was flaring and couldn't knit very well but they finished well and are the perfect size so as to slip on easily and not leave marks.

On to my next pair of socks...
