|Working on a Lacey Beret using Knit Picks Gloss DK, 3-DK weight yarn,|
70% Merino Wool/30% Silk, colour; Grass
Hand Wash/Dry Flat
My second open project is a delightful Lacy Beret I am making in Knit Picks Gloss DK. I searched several possible yarns for the project trying to find a specific color match to a jacket for my Aunt. I really owed her this beret last winter so it is incredibly late, that or incredibly early for this winter if she chooses to be generous with my tardiness. I made one just like it for my cousin in black which turned out nicely. This pattern has a full body and a beautiful but simple pattern. I enjoy making hats almost as much as I enjoy making socks and bags. I will starting this beret again in black as another late but early winter gift when this one is completed.
I am using Knit Picks Harmony Wood 16" Circular Needles for the body of the hat then moving on to Double Pointed needles for the crown decreases. It is my first time to use Knit Picks Gloss DK but like all Knit Picks yarn, it knits up nicely and moves smoothly on my needles.
